Looking for Detecting Partners

I'm finally back in Maryland from Florida ( the last 6 years ) and I'm looking for like minded detectorists. I prefer to research and hunt older sites; colonial and/or civil war. I live in the Aberdeen area and wouldn't mind traveling also.

I've been detecting for 20 years and prefer Whites equipment.

Welcome back. I'm right down the road in Abingdon. Right off of Rt. 7 and Abingdon Rd.
Lots of history right here in Hazard County. If you have the permission to hunt (easy to get, just ask, usually) there are a lot of neat things to be found. I actually found gold in one section of stream nearby. It's on a friends property too! Just do the research first. I could show you a thing or 2 that only a select few know about.
PM me and maybe we could get together 1 day. I have a Whites MXT and an extra 5" xcellerator coil for the trash. Haven't been out that much lately because of my work schedule.

I would travel north from AA county to hook up with you guys. I'm somewhat distressed about getting in trouble in AA county for MDing so I would definitely be willing to cruise up there if someone has a site that is "kosher" for us to prospect. I got nobody else in my general AO.

On the flipside of that, I have a friend further south from me in VA who has a pretty keen idea on how to search some areas for relics with permission from a certain "authority". We're talking Civil War relics without trespassing on official battlegrounds and without having to bother private property owners.

At the moment I'm thinking it would be a good idea to hook up with those guys they featured on Cash & Treasures who get permission to hunt on PP in Fredericksburg. They have 4 hunts a year and gather a nice booty all around. Best to catch up with those guys before the spots are so called hunted out
