At a recent club meeting I mentioned where I lived in SC.. One memberI hunted with on this site told me about Rev. battle that took place in my neighborhood, it was called the Battle at Stallings Plantation, in what is now called Derby Downs, York, South Carolina. The coin is not copper, rather is appears to be something else. It's not in good shape, in fact it doesn't show up very well in a photo. i can however make out a womens side profile, might be long hair, and what appears to be some sort of a lettering where a crown piece might be. There is no date showing, the back of the coin is worn more by then the front. It was opnly is a couple of inches of newly turned over dirt where a new house was recently built. The area is where the battle or skirmish took place. I know this is really a long shot, but any ideas, any ideas how I can inhance this coin to better ID it, sure would like to get an idea before the next meeting. I know it's a long shot without a picture. He seemed to think it might be from the late 1700 hundreds. Thanks for any advice or help.
