Has anyone out there done any metal detecting or know of someone who has done some metal detecting on Guam? For those who may not be familiar with Guam, this 32-mile long island is a U.S. Territory located about 3,500 miles West Southwest of Hawaii. It is about 125 miles from Saipan. Both are part of the Marianas Island chain, and were the focus of intense sea, air and land battles during WWII. The Japanese invaded the islands on the same day they bombed Pearl Harbor. And the Americans retook the islands toward the end of the war. Guam also was a Spanish colony going back to the time of Magellan in the 1600s. I'm wondering if anyone has had any success finding artifacts from those periods of occupation or just want to share their experiences from Guam.
