found in a box this week. a buddy found an identical color 44 wheatie yesterday in a box. wear marks are from quick rub with 1200 grit wet. why dip a penny in gold?. neither penny is painted. photos taken in natural light, will have them checked at my LCS next week. We used to gold and silver plate pennies in highschool chemistry class with electrolosis. It's not dipped, and there's no recoverable amount of gold on it.
 

If you think it might be valuable, why on earth would you rub it with sand paper?
