I'm not sure when I found this button, as I discovered it in one of my overflow areas of finds waiting to be cleaned and examined closer. It came from an old homesite most likely as I don't do very many fields.

Yes, it looks like I dinged it, resulting in a superficial crack.

The design appears to be a Liberty Cap on a pole design. It appears to be a molded design, rather than etched. Material seems to be tombac.

Size is 19mm
Doesn't match any of the buttons in Albert's book.

Looks very crudely cast, not sure what to think, not seen one, so will hold on tight...

not sure why, but a button of that age with that specific design to me gets the blood pumping. No idea on its history or origin, but I do have this weird feeling it might be something special. Hope it turns out to be a special piece of history!
