Hey Every One, Ive been reading for about a year now, I enjoy
reading the posts and just lurking.. I have a question.

Ive been using an AT pro and I picked up the sniper coil, large concentric and small double D
Im looking for more depth.

Im looking to move up a bit and Ive been looking at the Tesoro
Most of my hunting is in open pasture and wooded areas
about 2 or 3 times a year I will get the opportunity to fresh water hunt.
and about 2 times a year to salt water beach hunt.

I was looking at the Tesoro Sand Shark.
Will a PI machine do for this type of hunting?
I realize it has no disc. but will it produce different tones for the kind of metals?

I upgraded my headphones to Gray Ghosts and I rarely look at the screen of my AT pro
I just go by tones.. 95% of the time..

What are your opinions and advise ???

Thanks
Danny

My two cents worth, would be that you are ready for a deep seeking PI machine for open pastures and beach hunting without a lot of trash.

mxt with the mxt max but it's not for wimps

like the add says full size shovle ware a loud or

the mx5 with the mxt/max

light and will go down

If your looking at Tesoro's, you won't go far wrong with the Lobo Supertraq for woods and pasture, the headphones you have are a good choice for that machine, this was a set up I once had, it worked very well for that type of hunting.

The tesoroes make the same tone for everything over and over and over again. Drove me nuts and would be no improvement over atp in my opinion.

Thanks for the Input, I really appreciate the info esp from dirtscratcher I did not realize Tesoro only make 1 tone.

thanks again

Here is my take.

Asking anyone for their opinion on what to buy, typically results in dissatisfaction. For example. Would you ask someone which vehicle to buy? If you did, would you do it? Or may be, should I marry this women? While these examples are a bit extreme, the point is well taken. After all, what suits you, probably won't suit me! And, it doesn't make much difference what the reviews are either, if for no other reason than buyer's remorse.

As an amateur radio operator, when ask basically the same questions, I always answer the same way: Buy what suits your style, not what suits mine!

Thanks
Alan I agree with you..
However If I had not ask I would not have learned the Sand Shark only has 1 tone.
Im now researching the Garrett infinium
I wish there was a store I could drive too and look at them side by side.. I don't know of any
in Upstate South Carolina..
it would be easy to choose then..
I'm a ham too... Just got my general a couple months ago. That's fairly easy just go down to Ham Radio Outlet.. !! buy Yaesu... haha..

Nice to meet you.. thanks for taking time to reply..

Asking for what machine to buy is like asking what car to buy or what color. Do your research and get what is best for you. One suggestion that I can make is you already have an all around machine. If you are wanting to upgrade there are several out there that would work well. For relic hunting I much prefer the White's TDI. It is a brass magnet. With that I mean it will give a very high tone for brass and all other signals are low tones. My button finds skyrocketed after getting the TDI. A used one is around the $600 to $700 range. The Infinium is another great choice. And don't forget about the Minelabs and Tesoro's. Research them all and decide which is best for you. Your profile does not state where you live so location is very important. Some machine will not work in some areas such as Virginia. The soil is so hot in some areas that only the PI machines can get thru it. Same with beaches. Some machines will not work in salt water. Again do you research and good luck with which ever you get.

Hey Man, Thanks for taking time to reply..
I agree with you.. I did not word my question too good..
I was wondering if a PI machine was being used by many relic hunters?
I also was wondering if a PI machine gave different tones like my AT for ferrous and non ferrous metals

I'm in Up State South Carolina "Greenville"
I'm leaning toward the infinium at this second but I want to watch all the Garrett videos they
have on you tube about that machine.

Does any one know of any store or dealer between Charlotte and Atlanta that stocks
the Tesoro Sand Shark and the Infinium? I would love to compare these side by side.

Thanks again to every one for taking time to reply
Danny
