I'd call it scary. Makes you wonder a) why it would be in a BS camp, and b) why it hasn't been found yet, being so large. Wasabi found a pair of binoculars out there. Good quality, too, just that they've probably been laying on the ground for 45 years.

Here's another. I probably found nothing that day. Oh well, my humble beginnings!

LOL - LOL - LOL!!!!!!! :tongue3:
The headphone chord is almost touching the ground!!! LOL Get many false signals or trip because of that? ;D

Lessons learned back then is what made you the detecting wiz you are today!!!

I'm sure I tripped over it at least once. lol

Detecting whiz?? That's the pot calling the kettle black! You've killed this year. You will be feared once you and that SE become one. Keep swinging that thing, in no time I'll be left in the dust, holding a foil clump in one hand and a crusty zinc cent in the other!

Joe

That's great Twistidd! I hope someday I can look back on some pics and see how far I've come. I wish I had a pic of me with my first non-functioning white's metal detector back when I was 9 years old.

Here's one of my son with his first Harbor Freight special. He's 2 in this picture.

Looks like Harbor Freight is just now buying Radio Shack's older models. Very similar huh?

Root, your son is adorable..look at that smile on his face too.... is he still swinging the detector now too? I think its great...

Ha Ha Ha!

Good catch there TF. Good thing you're a lot taller now Joe, of course detecting under those dead falls would sure be a lot easier.

Brett, your sons smile must make everyone around him smile. He sure is a cutie.

Mike

Root,

I think that Harbor Freight detector is identical to the Radio Shack detector. I'm sure they are all made by the same company, just labled differently depending on who is selling it. Kind of like the way some of the lower-end Bounty Hunters are.

That kid looks like he's about to find a gold ring in the chips and rub it in someone's face! Haha, that's great that he's starting early. Keep getting out there with him and don't let him become one of those video gaming drones like most of these kids these days who refuse to "head toward the light!" of the outdoors. Looks like you're off to an excellent start!

Joe

Thanks everyone, that makes me proud ;D Yes he's still swinging it... but he doesn't last long. He loves to wash coins with me and look at my treasure too. He likes to just talk about pirates and treasure and pretend to find stuff in the house. I guess it's easier to dig under coloring books and blocks :) When he gets older I've already got a nice Ace 250 for him  I just hope he stays interested in it!
