I dug this up some time back and thought I would show it to some of the new members. Man I was pumped to find my 1st polished full grooved green stone axe in a very good site, it was about 2ft deep. Thanks for looking !!!!!!!! 10-20-13 PP site 002.JPG I don't have time to go into all the details of everything I found tonight, but I will later.

Jamey remembers this axe. I hated to do this but this a!!! FAKE !!! that was planted in a site I was digging after I found my Owl effigy bead by some farm hands who did not like me in their fields, even though I had the land owners permission. I reposted this photo because I let my emotions and my eyes fool me, but thanks to the members on this site who brought up question's and doubts, I was able to find out the truth of the whole deal. I did this just to show that anyone can be fooled with the right eye candy. Not only was there an axe but also a plummet and to this day they sit on my desk to remind me of this time and that I should listen to others and that little voice in the back of my mind. I found some nice stuff a green stone celt , small stone bowl, quartz scraper, clay game piece and a number of points. My point to this is don't let yourself get caught up in the moment when someone says something that does not sound like what you want to hear. There are a great number of artifact hunters, collectors and folks that handle more artifacts than most have seen on this site and a lot of minds to pick. Sorry if I mislead anyone !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

If you look the axe is not shaped right, to high of a polish and the groove is not made right and all of this was spotted by members on this site, but not by me at first I was on cloud 9 and did not want to hear what was being told to me( I thought I knew better).

That's impressive! Awesome find!

im sorry, this and little red owl pops in my mind.

Thanks for sharing I never thought about someone doing this... heard stories but always wondered why. Anyway, good life lesson - thanks again for sharing

What a dirty trick they played. I can't imagine how that must have felt. Thanks for sharing your story. You would wish that looking in the dirt would be one way not to be fooled.

I feel your pain. I have an axe that was given to me as a gift because I am axe poor. I keep it out of my collection because I will never know if it is real or not. :dontknow: Plus it came outside of my collecting area.

yep, timely story that....
