Finally made it back from my trip to long island. The first few days was spent in a very very odd spot. Searching high and low on what seemed a super promising property yielded only one type of find. British musket balls, and literally no other signs of humans during that time period. One would expect that if you found musket balls, other relics are not far behind. Being right on the water, It seems though as the british were shooting from the ships doing military training drills. Other than that I can not explain finding only musket balls. If they were shooting at someone, I'de have figured that there would be other objects/signs of life. So we headed back to a few other spots where the rest of my finds came from. This is the highlights as i have not gone through my "trash" yet, often digging in the dark something gets missed and I am sure I'll find a few things when I sort through it. In my mind the best finds are the 1872 seated(first old silver with the mxsport), and what appears to be lead grape shot from either war of 1812 era or rev war era. There was also a neat keyhole cover as well. Now its time to be back at work, wish I could detect for a living instead.
