I recall some Coleman stove where you poured fuel in the tank and then pumped but the pump knob and shaft were much shorter, maybe old ones were bigger and longer?

It is a needle valve for something? The drip oiler on the engine in my avatar has one kinda like that. Tony

Adjustment knob of some sort... ?

Pointed end would "touch" against something...

OR perhaps from a headlight type switch ?

Pulls "on"... then twisting adjust the "dim" of dash board lights ?

IF copper like you say... Possibly from something marine related ?

This is old chevy pull light switch.

It even looks to be the right diameter to go into one of those extra long schrader (spelling is correct, by authority of a real schrader valve) valve stems on old cars too. I am liking the old kerosene torch regulator valve best I think.

It looks far more rudimentary (The knob has far less finishing and shape) than that old Chevy light switch to me tho, but thanks for that picture ARRC =)

Yeah it is definitely a needle valve of some sort, but I doubt they had paint sprayers that long ago let alone air compressors to run em, I might be wrong tho :laughing7:

Probably one of the before mentioned ideas is spot on, too bad the item has no writing of any sort on it . Any pictures of old burners that would use needle valve adjusters?

That's it! I've been staring and staring at that, I knew I knew what it was and that my guess was close but a little off. Went out to the shop and yep, I've cleaned one of those a hundred times. Man I miss my memory.

Sounds pretty likely it is a needle valve from a paint sprayer, wonder how long those have been made?
