Lone Hunt - Saturday...

Spent 4 hours on my own & returned to the Bean Field where I had the Roman Coins & Hammered mid-week. Before I got to the Field I noticed a large area of ploughed Game Strip which had only just been rolled flat, so decided to do this instead. Only covered about 1/3 of it (about 2.5 acres in total, so still quite a bit to do) but did OK with 5 Scrappy Roman Coins & part of a Roman Brooch. So might be something hiding in the rest

Brass ring with makers mark inside, probably gold plated at one time.

Cru you always dig some cool stuff. We dig those fake gold rings here most I've dug have been in mid 1800's sites. There is a small piece toward the bottom of the pic with the ring. It almost looks like a keyhole and has rust on it. Do you know what those are? I always thought they went to a dress or corset or something like that. I've dug them on metal strips. The most I found on one strip was 8.

Yeah, they are part of a Victorian corset, to tie it up at the back

No where near the top but we try hard. The team (including honorary member), are going to hit some great targetted hunts this year. We had such a great year last year we have thought long & hard on how to improve, so the game is on
