I bought this tie clip because it was gold filled and going into my scrap pile, however before it is officially scrap I like to try and sell it for more first. Anyway it would definitely help if I could ID the company logo.

Zenith.webp

At first I thought it was a Zenith logo, and it might be, but I am just not sure. I bought it at a garage sale and I asked the lady if she knew anything about it. She said she was selling it for a neighbor. So I asked did she know what he did for a living? No. So I asked her did she know where he worked? No. The only information I got out of her was the man was 100 years old and he was still alive.

So if you do the math and say the man retired at 65, the clip could be over 35 years old. And that is if he retired at 20 years on the job at 65.

I appreciate any help.

If you are still in the area of the yard sale, take the tie clip to the old man and ask him. He may give you a lot of info as well. It looks as if it was a 20 year award for some reason (no sick call offs, 20 years of service, etc).. Just a guess and hope it helps.

I don't think it's Zenith. Looks like a power company to me. What part of the country are you in? Take a look around for older logos of the local utility companies.

Chicago. Commonwealth Edison is my current power company. A quick research finds they never used such a logo. But I have starting point. Thanks.

Looks a lot like Andrew (an antenna company)

edit: I just googled it - similar, but their bolt looks a little longer than the one on the tie clip

I'm pretty sure that's it! And it looks like Andrew was headquartered in Orland Park, IL with manufacturing in Joliet, IL. They were bought by Commscope in 2007.
