Lock & Button

Dug recently at old school and town park in central Pa. Best guess is button may be war of 1812 era and lock could be Pennsylvania and Reading railroad. Any info on I.D. and value would be appreciated.

Philadelphia & Reading Railroad. There are unillustrated price listings for "P & R Signal Service" locks in the $20-30 range; however, those may be for a different, straight-sided variety made by E. T. Fraim.

The button appears to be an early 19th century Militia button— possibly the one listed by Albert as #GI 56. Can you post a sharp closeup?

Unable to provide a better photo, however a friends book proves you are correct. The button matches GI-56 with "lewis & tomes extra plated" visable on the back. Thank you.
