Local Rock identification - chalcedony, serpentine, or something else..

Hi. I recently found these two rocks while digging near dirt piles from recently planted trees in my neighborhood. I have since given them an ameture polish. I have provided before and after polishing photos of each. Any ideas? Thanks

Chert comes in many colors. Lots of those are used for landscaping in my area.
