I went out this AM and hit a park, didnt find much else than this... Its a local merchant token. Tokencatalog.com doesnt have an image for it... reckon I'll send this one (the pic) to them. Too bad its so eaten up... our soil is harsh.

Says "Good for $1.00 off on a cash purchase of $20.00 or over" Reverse says "Joe Martin The home of the best to wear Frankston Texas"

You'll probably get a better response, or at least more accurate, but out here in Colorado, when tokens have that type of denomination, it usually denotes a 1920's era token.
Possibly in the teens, hopefully earlier.
Great find, anyway you look at it!

I always enjoy finding merchant tokens and you have a nice one there. I'm guessing it's brass (the bronze ones tend to hold up a little better in the soil)

Curbdigger is pretty accurate with his guess I'd agree that the denomination probably indicates circa 1920's although it could possibly be 30's as well. It should prove fairly easy to date. It was most likely a local small buisness so i would start with checking the 1920's- 30 phone books for frankston TX. That might give you an idea of the time frame for your token. Good find !

years ago, I found one VERY similar for a business that was located in Lawton Oklahoma. With a little research the date was nailed down to 1914 because they were only at the address listed on it during that year. my point being, is that I would be willing to bet that your token most likely dates in the mid teens to very early 20's.

Super nice find. After looking through that catolog I'm glad its only Frankston!

Nice find. I always love finding local merchant tokens.

Thanks, all! I submitted my photo to Tokencatalog.com and they used it on the listing since they didnt have an image.
