Sometime back it was said it would be good to hear what lcs's were selling and paying for silver. For what it's worth here's my local ill mannered idiot.

Buying silver 14X's. But that depends on how much and what shape and other conditions that went over my head. May pay as much as 18X?

Selling silver 26X's. Again depends, ect. Maybe as much as 28X.

Silver Dollars buying $14-$17. Selling for $30-$35. Again depends?? Wants Silver Dollars badly. Offered to buy from me $20 each for any amount over 100. I passed.

ASE's $30-$35 common dates. Well stocked. I saw 4 unopened Monster Boxes.

In defense of the local ill mannered idiot, the shop was very, very busy, Saturday noon, and cash was changing hands. I purchased two of the Native American Indian girl Proof's, broken from Proof sets for $10 bucks. 2000s and a 2001s. $5 bucks each. They will go nicely with the dozen or so of the same dates I already have. Sucker for pretty Indian girls.

He no longer has the Gold Proof Buffalo I coveted so badly. Thank Gawd. I would have probably bought it this time.

God Lost, I wouldn't be buying there and definitely not selling. Lol does he charge Tax also? I also see why he still has 4 unopened monster boxes.

Yes, he charges tax on purchases. Wasn't long ago he was selling ASE's for $38 bucks. I saw several people buy at that price. Next lcs is about 30 miles away. And that one is a big shop with no bargains to be had. This local fellow does a good business. Lots of Numi's to be had. Big stock of them.

Remember I posted I bought two of the Native Girl Proofs for $5 bucks each? Came home, turned on the TV and the Arts and Coin Show was selling the same Proof's for $5 if you bought a roll of 20.

edited to add---6/17/13---Just learned this morning our lcs bought 60 bucks in 90% quarters for 18X from one of my buddies the same day I was there.
The lcs guy even gave him a high relief foreign coin for the business. Guess when the guy said he might pay 18X, he meant quarters. And probably better shape halves.

Almost forgot. The four Monster Boxes I saw were filled with coin shop supplies and books. No coins. My buddy asked.

That's the beautiful thing about Utah, no state tax on coin purchases! Our legislature passed a law in 2011 that treats all coinage, regardless of age, as currency rather than an asset.

It would really be bad to have to pay sales tax on PM purchases. There is too much of a spread as it is sometimes, then to add 7% or more for a tax is ridiculous. If you buy from Apmex or such do they require the tax be paid if you live in a tax PM state?

My local coin store had a ton of silver the other day (generic bars and rounds). I plan to go there this afternoon and buy if the price doesn't recover too much. Saw some new Sunshine and Silvertowne 10 ouncers for under 1.50 over spot. This store doesn't pull inventory when the price drops fast so I feel pretty sure they will have some.

Hi! Jim I just bought some oz's this morning at the low end of the smack down. 40 oz's under $950.00 isn't bad. Keep Stacking

In the unusual time frame gold industry, the gold coins which are clearly in the biggest level of requirement are those which are exciting to several categories of lovers. As an example, a money like an 1855-O gold coins has several stages of requirement because it is a unique one-year kind money while an 1850-O gold coins.
