i tried to post this once and messed it up, so here goes again, basically its down to super traq or mxt,has anyone used both of these to give me an opinnion, they both do what i want in a detecter and the price is the same, the warrenty is a big difference though, i was given a demo on the mxt and was pretty impressed, he didnt have a super traq in stock, so i couldnt try that, i would be searching for coins and relics, and going to alaska and out west for gold, so both have the features im looking for, so anyone here have experince with both to give an opinion
thanks

I own MXT and relic hunt with it. Great machine.. I love it.. simple to use, not too expensive..

Auto ground tracking is nice.. I dont spent time pumping my coil up and down like some of my hunt partners. I like the knobs and switches.. I turn on and go. I primarilly use Prospecting mode to relic hunt. The % iron reading and VDI indicator are excellent tools to determine whether to dig or not. I also find it easier to pick up smaller targets using prospecting mode, as it was developed to detect flakes of gold. In the fields that I hunt.. if the reading is non-iron, I dig it up. I switch to Relic mode when it gets dark (because the detector has no backlight). I use the high/low audio tone to make dig vs move on decision.

I used an MXT before I got my XLT. The MXT is very good. I was shopping for a used MXT when a good deal came up on the XLT. I think you would end up being very happy if you got the MXT. Don't know anything about the super trag.
