Live Dig what type of button (Civil War era?) 28AUG16

Back digging where I found a civil war artifacts today. I found two of these buttons by a tree. The first button broke into a million pieces when I tried to clean it so I know it's old. Have you guys seen this before or know what type it might be?

The first button looks like a grommet/rivet; the type you would find on a pair of jeans.

Breezie thanks, it does look like that doesn't it? It's strange that I found two within feet of each other and the other one crumbled though.
