Little Silver & Big Silver from "Silver" Lake

Got out today after work for a bit to my old lake site that I nicknamed "Silver Lake". I thought I had cleaned it out pretty good in the past, but I guess no site is ever hunted out. This was my first big silver in a few years! The shiny Rosie was the first signal I got and was on the surface. I wonder if the recent floods washed it out of the lake. The half was right up against iron which is testimony to the V3i's ability to separate good targets from junk. The other Rosie was about 9 inches down.

Now if only I could find a place to nickname "Golden Pond"!

(The colonial button was found last weekend at a different site, but I love the way it cleaned up!)

Neil:

Is it possible our buttons are "cousins"; maybe coming from the same garment? They were found no more than 15 feet apart and look at the similarities.

It looks like it, but mine is crushed flat. Can you post a photo of the back of the button?

Went back tonight for a short time. Checked out the old bath house ruins. A lot of trash but I slowed down my sweep and dug some goodies!

I spent most of the time trying to recover a mid-range target from beneath a mass of tree roots. Why would I do this on a mid-range target? Because it had to be old to be under a root of this size, or a small, dense target such as a ring. I was rewarded with the early 20th century beach tag!

A few feet away was another and a few yards from that was a DEEP 1909 Barber Dime. I also dug a bunch of toasty wheaties.

Here are the ruins...
