little rocks into smaller rocks...Chalcedony, muscovite, jadeite

These are mostly from the trip along California's coast, just the other day.
I don't yet have anything fabulous like other posts here, but I'm trying to learn about this.
My goal is to facet country rock, so it may be saleable...


This is a rock of chrysoprase, found in our local creekbed. It improved quite a bit after a slice with my tile saw! There is also a geode, some little jade bits, fossilized wood and some muscovite.


This is my Oak Tree cabachon... Looks pretty much like the tree I'm sitting under as I grind it!


I think this pendant is quartz/jasper?? and the lozenge shaped pendant is faux coprolite. LoL


Here's some of the chalcendony, a jade pentagon I'm grinding on and some petrified wood?


I'm thinking this is muscovite as it has cleavage that is not fibrous, or elastic as serpentinite should be.
Any ideas?

Nice stuff! Looks like you had fun! It is a talent! I was looking for a local lapidary to work my emeralds from my NC trip. I found a club but the classes are a bit far for a weeknight. Hopefully, they will be moving closer when their lease is up as rumored.

Well, my tile saw works pretty good for slabbing.
It's NOT a little one...
It's a 12" Target with a 1 1/2hp motor I bought used in the old days for about $500 when I used to do a lot of tile work.

Just NO work around, so I gotta find things to do with all these tools instead of letting 'em rust away!
I need to make a rock-holding vise to use with it...

HD sells some little tile saws that are in a table saw shape that work good for a trim saw... only $80

Can, I think Goldfever does faceting, professionally
You might post an ad in the wanted forum if you wish to hire out the work...

Hope to build a horizontal lapping machine, soon.

Do you have any plans for these beautiful pendants?? As a wire wrapper I would love to get my hands on pendants like this that I can say where they came from and who cut them even! The rectangular red one with the green corner (Jasper I assume) is of particular interest to me. What size is it?
