Hunting--for buried treasure in Wayne County. Buried treasure supposed to be hidden there three quarters of a century ago by Andrew Poe a celebrated indian fighter of the early days. Wayne county traditions narrate how the old fighter of "red devils" stored a goodly amount of the yellow gold and silver in Peewee hollow in the darkness of night. The writer is not quite sure whether Poe came back after his hidden wealth and was unable to find it whereupon his ghost has been continually haunting the hollow ever since or whether he died before he could come back to find the treasure, but whichever way it was, the old inhabitants used to tell of how their folks knew there was wealth hidden in Peewee hollow, but they were never able to find any of it....
