Just a little piece of trivia folks....see all those gold coins in the background on the main Treasurenet page and at the top of this page?? Ever wonder where they came from? That pile of gold coins, more than 800 of them, were recovered by Mo Molinar and his company, MO Divers, back in 1987-the last big find of gold coins from the 1715 fleet off of Ft Pierce. Mo also found more than 7000 silver coins the next year while working for Historical Research & Development. Mo is an original member of Mel Fisher's Treasure Salvors, the only living member other than Mel's wife, Deo. Mo was also involved in that first find of over 2300 gold coins back in the early 1960's. He also recovered 2 gold disks weighing about 7lbs each. It was Mo who discovered the shipwreck Henrietta Marie-at that time the only positively identified slave ship in the western hemisphere. His finds are legendary. The cool thing is, Mo is 70 years old this year and is still out there looking for treasure. I dove with him last summer on a site in 54 feet of water-not bad for an old guy with diabetes. He should be an inspiration to us all.
