Found this little thing at a rummage sale a long time ago. Just recently found it in a box sorting through some old moving boxes. It's about 3.5" tall.

Nice thing. If you Google "gold-miner geode ornament" you'll see lots of variations on this theme. Unfortunately almost all of them use pieces of pyrite or pyrite-bearing rock (often glued in place as a composite assembly) to simulate the gold.
 

I love those. The little figures are made of pewter or some kind of soft white metal. I see many varieties for sale at the souvenir and rock shops throughout the mountain regions of the western United States. They're a bit pricey in those shops.
