Holy cow! Congrats little digger, great finds!

Very nice I have a nephew 8 years old all ready to dig up his dads yard... I can't wait!! Good stuff!

He did great. That's the way to get him off on the right foot.

At the risk of possibly upsetting others who have posted their lil ones with their great big smile and find of the day. I am voting banner for this one. Not because this one is any more special than the others I've seen but because it just now occurred to me.

The thing is, we see all these wondrous treasures up there in our banner every day and every one of them belong up there. Still, if we are serious about not promoting the "get rich quick" mentality of the current shows about our hobby, we NEED to start promoting some of the other aspects. Like the young, the reuniting people with lost family heirlooms, reattaching a person to a family member from long ago, etc.

If we REALLY are thinking about this passion we call a hobby, those pictures just HAVE to be what this is REALLY all about! Getting the young interested in the history that brought them to their current position in the world. Telling them about it, forcing them to read about it, movies, shows, etc. None of them get it across like pulling a true piece of history from the Earth with their own little fingers.

I don't care which picture is used but I'm partial to the middle one here. It has all the components, happy lil face, a find, the hole it came from and a detector.

Come on guys. What do ya think. If that face doesn't have banner all over it, what does?

I'd also like to ask you all to think about the future. How long will it be before the ONLY place we can use a detector is on someone's private property and then only by notarized and legally documented contract we work out with our lawyers?

I think it's time for a bit of action and a good start would be by this idea being banner worthy.

Thanks for your time and Little digger? That is an absolutely great couple of finds!!! Way to go!!

HH!

Very nice finds.way to go

Great job! its so much fun to see the kids enjoying the hobby! HH

The real treasures are the photos of the smiles and sharing in his excitement! Always praise the good your children do--- it will become a habit for them. Remind him that all days may not be so good, but the next day may be better! Enjoy the time with him now, as he gets older many things will restrict the amount of time you can share adventures together. Girls, schoolwork, girls, sports, girls, other hobbies, and did I mention girls?

I agree with WHADIFIND on the banner. Not sure how that works but I attempted to nominate. Congrats little man.
