✅ SOLVED Little Bronze Shield Thing

Found this little bronze shield-shaped item at a 1940-built home on the south short of Long Island, NY. It was fairly deep.

It's concave, and about an inch and a quarter long. See below - Barber dime for scale:



Anyone got any ideas?

Whatever it is that's really cool,, looks old.. Is the line on the top of the back where a pin may have gone at some point
