Unfortuntatly I don't have the opportunity to hunt as much as I used to, but did manage a short scouting trip yesterday. This site looks like it has some potential with the things I've found so far. However the ground frozen three inches didn't help the digging process.... so I only cherry picked a few really good signals.

The one piece in question looks like its the end of a small child's spoon? It is stamped - anyone recognize the shape and marking? It looks like a crown with the initials? WR ATENT

Its a padlock keyhole cover. With the W.R. (William Rex) in can be dated to 1830-37 : ANTIQUE ENGLISH PADLOCK c. 1830 : Lot 175
