I'm not much into photographing my finds so you'll have to take my word for it. Some of my best finds include a fat 22K gold ring, other gold/diamond rings, silver jewelry, silver coins (some of which members here can attest to, just as I can attest to silver coin finds as well as both finds shown here by TreasureFiend), and one of my favorite finds, which is an early copper belt buckle (appears turn-of-the-century-era) I found in a wooded section of an old Chicago public park. In addition, I've found hundreds of dollars in clad coins.

Trust me, if you've gone this far into wanting a metal detector, you'll be hooked the first day out. Perhaps this is a warning?

TOO BAD IT WASN'T AN " S " ( $20,000 )

Still the " O " $375

Wow! very very nice stuff guys!

Yeah it's kind of hard to pick out a favorite find. One of my personal faves was a rusty open switchblade, blade pointing up, in the sand at the bottom of a kid's slide in the park. The buttons, buckles, brooches and other stuff fire the enthusiasm, the truth is in the good that comes from a good day hunting.

A few faves might include these finds, the pigeon was a premier racing bird that cost it's owner in the thousands. I was gonna eat the bird because the owner did not return my calls or e-mail after I located him through the banding info. Would have been the most expensive dinner I'd ever had. Found that bird in the backyard.

The test bench shows an AM/FM synthesized sig gen I found in a pile being dumped by Simpson Electric when they left town, along with a sweep marker generator, a function generator and several of the old Simpson meters now prized because the analog meters have uses the DMM's can't meet. Value there? Thousands...

How about that Senora Nuestra De Atocha 1611 reale from the famous 1622 ship wreck in the gold bezel, found in a playground!

Civil War collar pin and heel plate from a cavalry officer, yeah!

So what kind of treasure hunting interests you most?

My best finds i can remember are a 1807 Large cent found with Lowbatts in Elgin this year.Found an 1834 Bust dime well worn on a farm in McHenry.Same farm produced twin Columbia expo half dollars and a Two cent piece. Also found a beautiful 1876 cc mint seated dime in Freeport Illinois while out with Lowbatts. Also with Lowbatts in the middle of nowhere about a mile deep in some woods doing a random sweep i ran across an 1899 barber quarter.I actually love finding modern silver from the 50's and 60's as every red headed step child and his family had a beeper durring the 70's and 80's and that change like our clad to day was sitting within 3 inches of the surface so everyone was finding that stuff and now today it's easier for me to find a barber or seated quarter then it is for me to find a silver Washington!

pick one...
