Lipstick?

I found this yesterday and I thought it was a lipstick. It feels a bit heavy for that so I've been taking my time trying to pop the top off without damaging the darn thing. After a lot of struggling I finally popped off the top and instead of lipstick this is what I've found. What is it and how do I open it the rest of the way without damaging it any farther. Swiz

Naw, you just got my backwards, upside down!! The cap has letters which I believe is just the letter G all the way around. The tube doesn't have letters or if t does they were so faded that I couldn't tell even with magnification. Swiz

OK thanks. I was referring to the cap when I originally asked if there was lettering. The letter G, all around, is a clue that we should not have overlooked..

Any lettering is always a good clue. We can only see what is pictured.
