I found this yesterday and I thought it was a lipstick. It feels a bit heavy for that so I've been taking my time trying to pop the top off without damaging the darn thing. After a lot of struggling I finally popped off the top and instead of lipstick this is what I've found. What is it and how do I open it the rest of the way without damaging it any farther. Swiz

I can't really move from my chair right now, but I have that exact LIPSTICK tube here...

It looks like a lipstick tube, but it could be a pill container. I'd pad the top, then use some pliers to try to twist-off the top. A little WD-40 might help too. Can you post some more pics showing the ends and the cap? Interesting find, Breezie

I took a much closer look at the side I don't believe there is any writing. It does look like there might be in the pic but I believe its part of the corrosion pattern on the side. As far as the ends go I don't see anything there either. It all looks like corrosion patterns. Kinda like trying to see the bunny in the clouds effect. I tried to lightly take pliers to the side and with only half the pressure that I had on the first top it started to dent the sides on the very top piece. The bottom half looks like it has a slight gap in it just like the top half did. I believe this whole center piece sides out as opposed to the top popping or screwing off. If you want I'll post more pics tomorrow. If I find out this thing is worthless then I just might take the dremel to it to open it up. This thing weighs about the same as an iron bolt of the same size. Maybe a little heavier. I'm really wondering if there's anything decent inside or just petrified lipstick. Swiz

It does look like a lipstick tube but years ago I found one similar to yours that was a bit heavy and it was full of little drill bits like a dentist would use.

I was really surprised by the weight on this one. After much gentle nudging with a dremel metal cutting blade it finally revealed nothing more then brass, copper and another metal. I thought for sure there must be something in my bullet but it looks like it was already fired. There was a waxy residue on the inside which I'm assuming was a wax seal to keep this huge rim fired lipsti...uh bullet sealed to keep the gun powder dry. Thanx guys. Swiz

looks like S.G on the cap. :icon_scratch: Is that corrosion or just a design?

Nope that is letters on the top. The whole thing except for the cap is destroyed. Dang lipstick containers. Swiz
Im sorry I dont understand. Are there letters on the top?

Is this already solved? If there is letters, what do they say? We can do a search.

OK thanks. It looks like lettering on the cap. Swizzle says its just corrosion. Like looking in the clouds. Then later says "Nope that is letters on the top." ??? I am trying to determine if we have lettering so we can do a search but if its already solved then there is no sense bothering. ;D

Naw, you just got my backwards, upside down!! The cap has letters which I believe is just the letter G all the way around. The tube doesn't have letters or if t does they were so faded that I couldn't tell even with magnification. Swiz
