Hello Tnet! Longtime browser, just now getting around to posting.

I had a lot of fun today detecting a park in Washington which has history dating back to the early 1900s. First off, the spot was weird because besides the item in question, all we found was modern clad, but it was between 5-8 inches. Surprisingly deep for modern coins, at least in my limited experience.

Anyways, the item in question is what I believe to be a lipstick tube. Made of brass I think, hollow, with fleur de lis' around the outside. I cannot make out what the design at the top is, or what the proper orientation is.

Any ideas?

I think you have to decide on the approximate date of the lipstick tube to determine which company it was made by.
To me, it looks to date to the 1940s - 50s.

I see a crown and the letter 'L'... now all you have to do is search the internet for this type of logo.

Yes, definitely lipstick tube. I believe the part you have is the cover.
