Found on salt beach around some rubble ...sounds like there is sand or pins or something else in it..probably need to soak it in something. Any guesses?

Possibly a needle case.

Looks like sand is coming out of it around the seams. I'll probably try and open up the little time capsule!

Maybe a match safe.

You may actually have a very good find...
Is there any marks ?
Do not use pliers to open.
This may be older than it appears so take care with it until you know for sure.
Can you post close ups... top bottom... and the lid seem please.

P.S> I do not currently think that this is a lipstick case.

Well..it's open. Wasn't too hard after a water soak. You can still see some sand in it. Pretty fun, for I've never gotten to open a find. Looks like lipstick. Nice little case still closes. Looks a little greazy inside. Would have liked to find a roll of indian head cents. I'm guessing it is from the '40's?

Ehhh I am not up on lipstick history... but If I had to guess... 1920's...
By 1915, lipstick was sold in cylinder metal containers.
