GTI 1500
Hello everyone,
Well I got to swing my coil on my GTI 1500 few about and hour this morning. I went to the local tot lot so I can learn what my MD is telling me. I wound up getting 60 cents in clad with the oldest coin being a 1960 penny. When I got home I thought I might hit the back yard for a few minutes and I got a really strong hit at 6 inches deep and was coming up as a penny. I cut my plug and standing on end was the small brass or copper tube. It is 1 3/4 inches long and 5/8 wide. It has a very nice picture of a guy on the side of the tube with Don Juan under it. On the end cap it says Military Red.

After looking this up I was able to find out that it was lip stick and a new color that was coming out in 1941. What I need help with is finding out if the item came out in 1941 was in a copper or brass tube to know for sure if this is a tube from 1941. Any help would be great. Pictures below

It is the first one I have ever seen. It would be great to find out what year they made them in copper. I think it is copper because of the really nice blue green color on the in side. But yet it did not have the same coloring on the out side and that makes me think it is brass. Any way I know they first made this color in 1941, I'm just not sure this tube is from 1941. It could be early 40's but I can't find much information other them the year it was first made.

This post has been up for two day and has had a few people look at it so my guess is no one else has been able to come up with anymore information then I have. Thanks for the help everyone.

I'm off to Plattsburgh NY on Monday to swing my coil with my son up there so everyone have a great long weekend. Mybe we will find something nice lol.

Here is a 40's era lipstick. http://www.rubylane.com/item/460327-DL254/Vintage-1940s-UNOPENED-American-Don Yours appears to be older. No mention of Military Red but it sounds like it could be from the war years.
