I've been using the Nox regularly since it was first released back in February/March and have noticed something with copper cents in my area. As the months went on and the soil dried up, especially during the heat of summer, copper Lincolns deeper than about 3 inches have been ringing in very high VID's. I'm getting 29/30, 30/31, 31/32, consistently on copper memorials. Wheats have also been high, but more 28/29/30... I've also had some silver dimes hit quite high, 32/33, (in spring they were 28/29/30) but not as consistently high as the memorials. This is across all Park and Field modes. Earlier in the year, when the ground was wet, deeper memorial cents and wheats, were hitting closer to their expected VID (24/25). Interestingly, deeper clad dimes have not really changed and are usually 26/27. IHP's are also unchanged, in the low 20's. So what's the deal with copper memorials and wheats?
The only difference I can think of is the water content of the soil. In spring our soil is saturated and transitions to bone dry during summer months. Has anyone else experienced this? I'm fine with it, it's just an interesting observation/quirk I often wonder about. I can't think of any other difference other than the soil conditions.
Btw, I am using stock firmware.
