Tried a few min today in the wind, but after the deluge we’ve had for a while. Nothing overly exciting. Two items I did want to share….one I assume is a salt/pepper shaker. Has a patent date on the bottom, but glassware is out of my wheelhouse. Any ideas?

Other item is a first for me…..a .25 rem brass. This series( 25, 30, 32 and 35 rem) were introduced in the early 1900s to compete with Winchester cartridges. The 35 is the only one still in existence. Odd thing about this case, it has a umc head stamp. Remington acquired umc in 1911 and shortly thereafter changed head stamps to rem umc. So unless I miss my guess, this shell was made between 1906-1911.

If anyone has additional thoughts on either item I’d be appreciative.

Interesting about the Remington cartridge. I did not know or forgot about the series. I had a .35 Remington carbine that I used for hunting deer for many years. It was a very good combination, light short rifle and effective cartridge without too much recoil and good for the woods. The .25 looks like the same case necked down.
