"Like Finding A Gold Ring In A Haystack"
Sounds cliche but it's true.? While hunting on Sunday, I was approached by a lady that asked if I could find a ring with "that thing."? Turned out her husband had lost his wedding ring at his business and thought he had a pretty good idea of where.? So this morning I showed up thinking it was going to be a 3 minute hunt and this is what I saw when I got there.? Hay everywhere for hundreds of feet in every direction.? Bales, stacks, and pallets of hay!? The gentleman that lost the ring was in the business of erosion control and makes those giant straw "hotdogs" you see around construction sites.? He's lost the ring on a conveyor and it got wrapped up in one of them.? These things are about a foot in diameter and 30 feet long.? They were stacked pretty high on pallets but they thought they knew about where we could find the ring.? I had resigned myself to a late start at work but the third sausage I checked....Bingo!? This ring was a beauty, heavy gold and 6 diamonds.? Turned out they'd been married 25 years, so needless to say there were tears all around.? I snapped my usual crappy pics and headed for the door, refusing a $20 bill for "gas money".? Total hunt time....11 minutes.? Ain't life grand~CO2
