I would say to go with a excalaber. I am not real strong but I can use it about five or six hours without getting to tired. It has an iron mask and you don't have to did nails and other iron junk which is a real time and energy saver. I have found four gold rings already this year since I bought this machine. It has almost paid for it self. This is a better machine then I ever thought it would be. Oh yeah, thanks sand man I have been reading everything you write about this machine and you are right on the money. frogsmile ::)

Thanks Frogsmile. The Excal 1000 is a great machine and does have the iron mask which ignors the nails, bobbie pins, etc. It is lots lighter when you hip mount it. I carry mine around my neck in a harness I made and it works great. One thing I do differently than most guys is I tape the coil wire along the side of the shaft up to the handle. This saves strain on flexing of the wire and it helps cut water resistance when moving the coil back and forth. The end of the shaft is fastened to my goodie pouch belt so I can let go of it and it's right there next to me. All my water detectors I rig this way execpt when diving.

HERB

IF MONEY IS NO OBJECT THEN GO WITH THE EXCAL LIKE SANDMAN SUGGESTED

U CAN GET THE WHITE'S BEACHUNTER I.D.

DETECTOR PRO MAKES THE WADER.................BLUE IN COLOR..............EVERYTHING IS INSIDE THE EARPHONES...............THAT IS THE LIGHTEST RIG ON THE MARKET NOW

WILL NOT BE EXACTLY THE SAME AS EXCAL, BUT PRETTY GOOD.
