Beach & Shallow Water Hunting
Recently I have been hunting the beach while storms passed nearby. Very common in the afternoon this time of year in Florida. Each lightning discharge, even miles away, was clearly audibly in the Excalibur. Sometimes every 10-15 seconds.
Is there any way to shield the detector without compromising its performance and cut down on the noise from the lightning ?

I would take it as a warning to get to cover. ;)....If you can hear thunder you are close enough to get hit.
