My Dad passed away just before christmas he was my life long hunting partner taking me on hundreds of adventures over the years whether it was looking for revolutionary camps on the east coast when I was a kid or digging bottles in dover and Livingston NJ or the big chicago bottle dumps of the late 70's Pullmen ,Blue Island, and the cook county forrest preserves. He started me digging outhouses and metal detecting. He never stopped hunting and had recently purchased a E-trac at 89 years old. Up unitl his heart stopped him he was hunting the treasure coast beaches hoping to find some of the 1715 fleet silver.... never did but it never stopped him His favorite saying "great finds don't come easy" the last 5 months he was hunting wearing a external defibrillator called a life vest. He was my greatest treasure RIP Dad it was a perfect hunt.

Very sorry to hear of your loss, know it want be easy but hope you keep hunting to honor his memory, you know he would want you too....

And you know he'll be right there with you, don't you? You'll feel him - and it's real. His body has passed but that kind of love never dies...

A father and a best friend. That is a tough loss. You have my deepest sympathy. Take care.

My condolences on the passing of your Dad and Mentor.
