So I decided to put in some time at an old park today. After a while I get this very clean, tight high tone. I'm hoping half dollar. But I pull out this colossal gold ring. I'm incredulous because of the tone. It has some heft but I'm wondering if it is enough for the size of the ring. The ring is about size 13 and weighs about 13 grams. Clean it up and it is marked 10K. Whoopee! But then I flip it, and it is also marked .925 sterling. Ugh! So high and so low...so fast. I'm going to look at it this way. It is still 13 grams of silver (with some gold plate).
Also got some nice coins.
