library fesearch and national archival research

hi can anyone tell me in order to do research in national libraries what would you need to get access to the book? also, how would i find out if a wreck has been claimed? thanks for your help!

As for research, there is a good book out at Amazon on researching for treasure hunting by von Helsing. http://www.amazon.com/Research-Treasure-Hunting-Metal-Detecting

As for claiming a wreck, that is Admiralty law. I think it is called an 'arrest' when you file in court, but am not sure on that. You may find something useful on Salvage Claims Under Admiralty Law | Award for Salvaging a Ship | Lawfirms.com

As to research in a national library, the answer is 'A to Z'. Some books you can retrieve yourself. The other extreme may be the necessity for an appointment, they checking and holding your driver's license; wearing latex gloves and placing the book in a soft cushioned holder--while a librarian observes what you are doing.
