These were the coins I posted that I found in Richmond County,Virginia a few days ago the liberty coin with two holes in it I thought was just a piece of good luck charm or jewelry someone wore. A buddy of mine who runs a civil war shop told me that he read in a Civil War magazine that field workers/slaves use to put two holes in the coin then wear it on their wrist for arthritis cures or prevention, don't know how well it worked but it makes sense.. 
Also if anyone is got any idea what that button is please let me know it looks like a 19th century police officers button but have the slightest clue.
