Liberian Coins

I got two Liberian coins yesterday. Both are five dollar coins from the year 2000. One depicts George Washington,the other James Monroe. They are the size of a half dollar.
They look like silver. Sound like silver. But I don't know if they are silver.
Anyone out there know about these coins?
