Hello.
Got out with the legend today wanted to test out and compare the LG15 coil with notes on target ID and depth as I'd read a comment someone had made that they thought that there would have to be some loss in its ability to detect as deep as the main 11 inch coil.
I have natural deposit targets marked out in my yard and took some notes from sever weeks back on those with the main coil.
Now conditions have changed we have had rain since I took those notes the only changes I made is I had to drop my sensitivity down a bit from the default of 25.
But everything I wrote down matched using the LG15 so I see no loss of depth with this coil and would not even think twice about using this coil out in the wild, I mean the screen ID's were all the same, nothing changed other than the fact that the 6 inch coil seems far more accurate on target size(creeping up on, and away from the target to determine the size) which is just another plus to me.
I am however thinking seriously about the 13X12.5 coil anybody here using it?
If so let me know your opinion on it.

I think you are spot on with your assessment of the LG15 coil,

it does give up a little bit of depth as compared to the LG28 but not enough
for me to worry about, the other coil the LG24 is even better and closer to the same depth of the LG28 coil, but that LG15 for as small of a coil as it is has amazing depth.

The LG15 will easily go to 8"-9" in good conditions and I think it separates better than the LG24 and LG28. I really haven't dug enough deeper targets with the LG24 for me to say that it's deeper than the LG15. The round design is inherently deeper than an elliptical design.

I use the LG35 all the time not only does it go deep like you'd expect it to but it separates much better than any big coil that I've ever used. Yesterday I was in a small park and right in the middle of the big field was a 20'x20' area of 45-48 targets everywhere. There was some kind of metal structure underground and every one of those targets was just a piece of that metal that was poking up high enough to look like a good target. As I swept really slow over that mass I got a 57-58 signal in the middle of it that turned out to be a small sterling ring on edge. That was amazing separation.

Thanks nuggetshooter323.
I agree about the LG15 it certainly versatile and it is showing some good depth and accuracy both.
Now is that LG35 the 13X12.5?
That is what I was thinking about as most of the the fields I have that I can hunt are no till and I figure all the depth I can get all the better as nothing gets churned up around me.

Yes, the LG35 is the 13.5x12.5.

Thanks for info buddy. I have been using the LG24 with quite satisfactory results. 1900-1920 silver in scabby soil, dimes and old coppers coming in around 42ish on display, with old silver quarters around 52, at my settings. I might grab the LG 30 for its slightly lower weight and hair larger size than the shipped 28. I can see the 30 as having benefits on land and water. I have all the Simplex coils, and while I love the smallest one, I also slay clad and sometimes jewelry with the largest coil. The big coins in Canada hit high and hard with it. It's ridiculous how fun the Simplex is with that garbage can lid coil !

Had the LG15 out over the weekend to play. Used all default settings and only tweaked recovery speed and number of tones from there. Worked out well with recovery at 6 and 6 tones. I was able to pull $1.08 in clad out of a spot with loads of iron. I would hear the Iron signal with a faint blip of a higher tone. Then swing faster to hear the higher tone over the iron. I think it's going to work out great when I get to the really trashy areas I have on my list of permissions.

I have absolutely no complaints about the small coil. Great for getting in and around large tree roots, and in playgrounds. Thinking of trying it in shallow water since it pinpoints a target a bit closer where not visible.

LG15 finds from 8/23/23. The dime is in there for size reference.
