I didn't realize Robber Lewis had an accomplice until I read this. I cannot tell you how long I have thought about Robber Lewis and where something could be found in Mifflin county. The only thing I can come up with is I need to find out where all the "off the beaten path" springs are and detect around them. Because surely it was rare for Robber Lewis to show his face in towns, and so he and any accomplice would have made use of the numerous old trails and roads, and would likely have to camp at or near springs. If any of you live near old springs.....detect around them.
The problem for us is finding time to thresh out my theory! This thing called work gets in the way of everything. Then throw in the weather and hunting season. :) We just need to find that first large cache that sets us up for life, then we can finally have time to do more. Can I get an amen in here?! LOL!

I would Guess since most of the Paths back then were still Indian paths,
they Followed Creeks. & like Indians, Best spots to set up were at spots where creeks Met creeks, streams and maybe the rivers if the site was still well concealed.
Most likely any spot that was easy to turn into a private Cave.
Like impression in the Ground or Large Downed Tree or Rock Ledge.
Any place he could Slip in And Cover with Leaves & Branches in a
moments notice.

To the untrained Eye , it's just a Land slide in the side of a hill.
but is Big enough to Conceal a Body Or cache

and yes "accomplices" actually John Connelly and Felix McGuire are 2..
Though if I remember right, not real Trustworthy.
Been awhile since I read anything on them.
