Being absolutely new to this (I dont have a detector yet) this is probobly a dumb question. Has anyone researched and detected the lewis and clark trail? Esoecially Washington and Oregon.

http://www.lewisclark.net/ also a good website ....if you follow their maps and timeline journals you could get a good base on where to start looking.....where they camped longer.

That would be an adventure! Even if someone had detected, they would have at best only hit parts of the trail. Probably still some good stuff out there, never know what you might find...

I attempted to once.
But had to give up on it, when I found out I was on the Lois and Clark Trail instead.

I've seen on the discovery channel, Archeologists excavating various locations where they thought they had camped. HH

yea, i would think that it would be illegal on alot of parts but im not sure..sounds like a great idea though
