Lever/trigger?

I thought this might have come off an old bike bell,most I found in my search are not as thick and don't look like this?
Any ideas what this might have come off? It's brass and a little over 2" long.

Could be cupboard latch or off old wooden ice box

That's as good a guess as any,I didn't think of that.It is hinged so could be a latch.
