I have not found any foreign silver MD, but have gotten one free and not from a collection. It is a 1943 South African 3 pence (80%) and came out of a coinstar machine.

wish I had a pic of one of my silver foreign - but alas - found it back around 1980 when I was a kid
and sold it when silver was high back then for gas money

It was from india or some place out that way - had their kind of script lettering on it

here is story - I was hunting with a partner near a WWI training camp - we found a bunch of old forks and spoons in this area like it was an old picnic site
found some early wheat cents but nothing that would link this bit of woods to the camp about 100 yrds away
partner yelled that he wanted to move on - I had this giant downed tree in front of me - it only had about 2 feet clearance under it
it was about 50+ yrds long - partner yelled out again "let's go" so I decided to climb over it - when I did I slipped and fell on
my face - still holding onto my old Compass as i stood up - I got a loud blast - thought I had a can or another spoon
partner yelled again - i yelled back I got a target - he said get going or I'll leave ya
I swept aside the pine needles and stuck my knife in a popped up this huge silver coin
I swept the area around it real quick - got another signal and popped up a Barber dime = swept around again
-nothing - I was stoked though - I heard engine start and ran quickly out of the woods
I put those two coins in his hand as I put my gear in the trunk
He could not believe it - went back myself when I got my own car - but never got much to talk about

The coin was thicker than a Morgan and slightly bigger around = its center was really worn like it may have been carried as a good luck coin
sold it before I got to Id it - never thought much about it till seeing this post
one of those regrets of the hobby - letting an unusual item go

Here are a few. All found in Germany except the half reale which was found in SC.

Not counting my one and only half reale dug on an back-east B.O.N.E. hunt a few years ago, is a 1842 four pence dug out here in Denver.
Can't for the life of me dig any Canadian silver, new or old.
Carl
