Today I only had about an hour to hunt so I went to my job site which is right on the water. Not my best day of finds but perhaps one of my most important days. I really felt like I was locked in with my T2 SE today and was getting great depth. My girlfriend bought me this detector 3 months ago and today it just seemed to click. Ran it close to wide open (high sensitivity/low disc) and felt like I really understood every noise it made and what it all meant. This thing amazes me every time I use it and I'm thankful that I have an awesome gf that bought me this baby. Here's what I found today

Looks like you are learning it well! Nice saves!

Ahab8,
If you haven't been using the little 5 much you will be amazed. My chin dropped the first time I actually did some controlled testing on coins in my test garden. The depth is incredible and it is much more stable with less falsing and EMI. You can run it quiet a bit hotter than the 11 as well and still be stable. In rough areas where the 11 is hard to swing or maneuver it is the berries. At first I kind of felt it was too small as far as coverage to use except when needed in the trash. The bottom line is I am as productive with it as I am with the 11 in most sites. Just so fast and easy to maneuver. Open fields etc would of coarse be hit with the 11 but the 5 gets almost as much swingtime for me now. You are rocking on the finds lately my friend. Best of luck and keep the posts and pics coming.:icon_thumleft:

Hey TN Guns,
Thanks for the info my friend. Luckily these old sites haven't been too trashy but I do have one spot that I should def try it out on. It was crazy the way it just seemed to click for me the other day. It was like I just understood what I was hearing better. It makes me wonder what I've been missing :-) so I'm excited that I have some great sites to go back over in the spring. I'm amazed at the tiny little things that come out from crazy depths. I fall in love with this thing more and more every time out. I always appreciate your comments.

Wow she bought you a t2 se MARRY HER!!!!! Oh and be careful if this is you first Tek metal detector I have used one for years and just 1 week ago I got a solid 77 (always 1980's stinkin Lincoln) I dug it anyways and it was a sterling ring w/ emerald!!! Also Teks hate indian pennies so if you get a strong but bouncy 55-68 make sure you dig !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

gtfm2345,
Yeah the T2 SE might just be the clincher for me to put a rock on her finger. Smart girl if ya really think about it :-)! Thank you for the info my friend. I'm really new at this so any info is much appreciated. I do however feel like I'm comfortable enough to give a little bit of hep and advice where I think I can. Just curious if you use 2+ or 3 tone or something else? I have found an indian head but I must admit that I'm not good about writing down or remembering the numbers. I need to start doing better with that. I do however log all of my finds and all of my sites. I will start writing down the numbers that correspond to my finds. I too found silver that read lower than I believed it would be. Keep in touch with any new tips and tricks and I will do the same
