Lead?

I'm pretty new to detecting but what is this? I thought it was going to be my first coin. It was at the same spot I've been finding everything else. Im thinking a homesite between 1850 to 1900.

Looks like part of an old hand pump. If that's rust I see it's not lead. Lead is not a structural metal.
