Hey all, haven't posted in a while, haven't found much in a while....

Yesterday I found a few things, but one I can't figure out is a small lead tube like item, sealed at one end. It has some raised design on it resembling feathers or wings or something. I'm not sure. I just can't think of what this might have been used for.

Maybe someone here has an idea... I'd appreciate any feedback. It is just shy of 2" long and 3/4" in diameter. The design is on both sides of the tube. It has a nice white patina on it...

Thanks!!

Good point Casper, if this piece is pewter as opposed to lead, it may be from 18thc tableware or a figurine. :icon_scratch:

I was thinking tableware as well

Thanks guys, guess I should have tried bending it... it doesn't bend like lead would. IMG_3836.webp
The house I found it at was built 1813, and it's always fun to see what comes up.
By tableware, do you mean like a coffee pot or something along those lines?

Thanks again... you guys never cease to amaze.

I was thinking a pewter handled butter knife.

It may have come from anything... a cutlery handle, a mirror, a quill pen or even a teapot. :icon_scratch:
